Lamkin is God's Country

I grew up in far eastern Comanche County, Texas near a small community called Lamkin.  The name Lamkin reminds me of the word "lambkin" which is a more formal name for a little lamb. The Leon River runs beside Lamkin. Leon is the Spanish name for lion. So, as in Biblical stories, the lion lies down with the lamb. That act symbolizes peace and understanding.

Lamkin truly is God’s country. I’ve always known it. Ever since I was a child, a warmth and sense of sanctuary enveloped me whenever I returned there. It is where I felt most safe and secure.
